On a sunny Good friday evening headed Heren1 for Deurne. This was a game Horst knew would not be easy as Deurne the last couple of games was gaining points and climbing up the leaderboard. Our last encounter with Deurne were tough games and we knew what was in front of us and we were prepared for the challenge at hand.
Wouter was manning the helm and was making it clear what he wanted to see on the pitch making it clear that it would not be easy and pointed out what tactics we were going to use.Leaving the changing room our mood was good and all players were fired up to give a 100%.The warming up was not as confident as it should have been and Juul pointed that out as we got in the team huddle just before the start of the game one more time what the plan was.
The start of the game started Horst with fullpress against Deurne but the middlefield players reacted to late which leaded to a counter play from Deurne and a 1 on 1 with Tony which lead to the first goal 2 minutes into the game, not the start Horst wanted and a wake up call for what was to come.Horst kept the pressure on and created a corner which went left of the keeper. As the game progressed Deurne gained a corner which Horst dealt with and created a counter attack and almost scored moments later Deurne quick on the counter themselves took the moment and scored Horst losing the ball to quickly instead of trying to hold it up and relax the tempo to our advantage. The game went on and Deurne scrapped another corner and scored here from, the score 3-0.Horst still fighting and trying to find the right groove were able to pick acorner and Koen scored 3-1.The smiles on the faces were short lived when Horst moved foward and again through losing the ball Deurne flew on the counter and scored as the play that followed Horst created a corner and scored and went into the first half break 4-2 behind.
Wouter gave on what he saw and things that had to be corrected and with the pep talk out of the way we got on with the second half. The sunny weather which welcomed us was now dark and thunder clouds rolling in and with that scored Deurne early in the game to make it 5-2.Horst got stuck into the game and created more chances and corners but the ball would not go into the goal. Horst earned a corner and Koen gave a good ball to the right side of the goal was saved with good stick work from the keeper of Deurne but with persistence Horst scored through a corner 5-3.
The game followed on with both teams going all out with chances from both sides with no success with rain now belting down on the field and the furious thunder and lightning the whistle blew 5-3 the result.Everyone headed for inside.
Dissappointing result for the team and for the fans that travelled to watch the game thank you for the loyal support we hope that next week that we can make amends against Geldrop a team going for the championship.
